I am feeling a bit better, I think. I'm not entirely sure yet. I can say that this is the best I have felt since getting the flu. Maybe I am on the up-side of this sickness? I hope so. I think I have slept most of this week. It has passed by me pretty fast...a blur. Today is already Friday.
I haven't been online all that much this week. Well, part of it was due to the sickies. Other times...the electricity goes out. The first time the power went out, it was pretty quick and came back on within a few minutes. Odd, but whatever. Yesterday morning...practically shaved 10 years off my EFFING life. So, I was in bed at 10 am...dead asleep, probably snoring. I was rudely jerked awake by a huge KABOOM. It took me a few seconds to register it all. The cats flew into their "I'm scared" hiding spots. Right after the boom, total silence. The electricity had gone out. Once my heart started up again, I thought, okay something happened at the electrical substation a block away. No big. They will fix it in no time. Usually when this happens the entire side of the road I live on goes dark.
Well, after calling the electric company, we figured out it wasn't a wide spread outage in my area. it was my apartment complex ONLY and we were the only ones to call in and report it. Odd. Well, a few hours later 4 electric trucks are in the apartment complex parking lot. They get up to the sidewalk in front of my door. The guys lifted this large metal grate in the lawn, near the sidewalk. I had no idea there was anything electrical down there? So, whatever KABOOMed was from down there. No wonder it was so loud...it was directly in front of my apartment. Underneath the window of my bedroom, where I was sleeping.
So, the electric guys fixed whatever caused it...my power came back on 4.5 hours after the incident. I still have no idea what all that was about. The electric company just said a "high voltage power failure." Whatever that means...?
In this photo, I was knitting on my red Folded sweater and Phinn had to get in my lap. He would not take no for an answer. So, I just put the sweater on top of him and continued knitting. He didn't seem to care all that much. What's a little more cat hair in the sweater, right?
Sweater progress...? I am knitting on the yoke and raglan decreases. YAY me. Sick knitting seems to agree with me. I have knitted a lot, read a novel or two and slept a lot this week. I admit that my sleep schedule is all screwy, though.
I am going to use today to be sick and lazy, even though I am feeling slightly better. Tomorrow, I am going to get myself back to normal. Clean the apartment, cooking, and my usual stuff. I just can't sit, sleep, be sick anymore. I'm bored with it, mostly. Yup, I have decided...
Happy Friday, everyone. I am off to answer some emails and what not. Toodles!
